How much barrel heat?

I don't know what temperature that barrels are subjected to during stress relief, so I'm wondering about oven cured barrel coatings. At what temperature does barrel integrity deteriorate? I'm not planning on having a barrel coated soon, but I'm just curious.

Coatings Temperatures

The curing temperatures are 300 F or less for an hour on products such as CeraKoteTM www.nicindustries.com. This is has had no known effect on quality 416R SS barrels.

oven temps of 300 or 350 to cure a barrel coating will not affect the metal. however do not jump it up to 500 degrees as at that temp, steel starts changing properties in the solid state. Fred
