In its heyday...

How many records were set and how many national titles were won with the 222 Remington and its wildcat cousins ?

Pretty much all of them (except sporter)...that's why they were used....then the PPC came along....

Just to stir the pot..a few years ago, Dennis Thornbury pulled a .222 out of his gun safe, one that was built on a sleeved Remington, and if I remember correctly, won a two gun at Visalia, against a tough field of 6PPCs. This is not to challenge the superiority of the PPC in any way, but I will say that to make a comparison between the potential of the calibers, someone, that knows what he his doing has to shoot one. This doesn't happen very often these days.
