Anyone know who makes the subject brass? I don't think either Hornady or Nosler produce their own brand. I could be wrong though.
Thanks,
Richard

Why not call Hornady and Nosler direct and ask them? I've always found it best to go directly to the company involved.

I would, but there closed until tomorrow morning. Maybe someone else can answer my question. Thanks, anyway.

I called Hornady this morning. The salesman (Bob) said the .308 match brass is probably made by Winchester. Since Hornady brass is about %80 more in cost than Winchester brass, I assume their specs given to Winchester must be much tighter then off-the-shelf Winchester brass. Nosler in Oregon is still closed.

Richard ...

I never liked the word [probably]. Too much doubt or uncertainty associated with it.

I just spoke with Tod the Customer Service Manager at Hornady, here is what he just told me.

At one time Hornady purchased all their brass.

Today, they manufacture about 95% of their own. If the brass has the name "Hornady" on it, it was manufactured by them.

If it has the word "Frontier" stamped on it, it was manufactured for them, by another company. :)

Richard ...

Since you piqued my curiosity, I called Nosler to see if they or another company manufactured their brass.

I spoke with Jerry in their Shooters Pro Shop. He told me that another company manufactured brass for them, using their specifications, and, when asked who it was, said that he was not at liberty to divulge the other company's name.

You might try asking the same question, and then make a comparison of notes. :)
