Hornady 53 gr V-Max in .223

Has anyone tried using this new bullet from Hornady in their .223 yet. According to Hornady they need a 1-12 twist so that lets out most 22-250's, but they should work fine in a .223. If you have, what have your results been and what powders worked best, and what was the over all length.

Not according to Hornady. This is due to its length; it will not stabilize in the slower twist rate. If you look at what Hornady brought out in their Superformance ammo they introduced a .223 using the new 53 gr. V-Max, but in the 22-250 they used a 50 gr., as they could not get it to be stable in the slower twist rate barrels

The 53 gr V-Max shoots very well in a 1:9 twist .223 (26" barrel) with 23.9-24.2 grs of X-Terminator. I don't have a velocity. - nhk
 
Ok let me be a little more specific. Has anyone tried these bullets in a standard off the shelf .223 rifle with a 1-12 twist?
