Well, three years in Iraq is coming to a close. Shop is up and things are going well so far.

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone who wished me well during my "sabbatical" in the sand lands.

Here's a shop photo.

Wow -that's impressive.

Soon you will have the time to do some of those long thought about projects and do some shooting......

Does everyone have a few of those plastic milk containers in the back ground?
They are great to pack and take stuff to the rifle range -depending upon the location .

Take care and good luck .

From a two time looser from Vietnam, I am mighty proud of the way America treats it's new Vets. However you may miss the good fist fights I had on my return to conus. It was my last time to confront the liberals, and get in licks.

There is nothing like home, my worst day at home has been better than my best day in theater.

Welcome home!

Welcome Home

Thank you for your service and welcome home.

Now get to work on making that Grunig trigger work in other actions, first, a BAT.

Hey Kev!!

Sorry we never got together those last few days buddy. Spent some more time thinking about your little idea regarding a straight pull action. I think it'd be worth your while to investigate an old Swiss made rifle that is a straight pull.

It's exactly what we talked about.

The shop is up and running now. I still have to get the surface grinder (Brown/Sharp hydraulic) set up. As soon as this bullchit weather breaks we'll get after that.

The bulk of my work right now is vintage/antique HD restoration parts. I'm working inside of Competition Distributing in Sturgis, SD. We've worked a deal that is pretty cool. If your a slut for V twins its worth taking a look at. The shop is like something from a Discovery channel show. It's like a museum in there. My gunwork presently is limited to some local stuff, mainly just friends and its all pro bono since the FFL is still in the works. I am anxious to get after some real gun work though. I've got an itch to build a new receiver (nothing exotic

I'll be starting on that trigger when I get the surface grinder set up.

Thanks for all the kind words gents. Coming home sure feels good. Girly and the little girly sure are happy now that I'm coming home smelling like coolant and moly tapping fluid.

Welcome home guy. Hope they can all come home soon---such a rotten place, such a rotten cause.

You should have left it at this. The rest was unnecessary.

Without any disrespect or intent to belmish Chads homecoming, since when is a war zone not a rotten place, and since when is slaughtering innocent people not a rotten cause. The Iraqis did not do 9/11. Get used to the truth. Cheney and Rumsfeld are gone, thankfully.

Pal, since there is a sniff of oil, or the slightest threat of communism.Rad

Since I've been drawn into this thread by acting on another, how about keeping political statements to posts in the General Discussion forum. While everybody has an opinion, remember that while you're guaranteed the right to speak, you have no absolute right to an audience. The willing political audience is on the general discussion forum.

BTW, you are still suppose to be civil there.

Back on topic here...

Chad,

Welcome home and thank you for your service. You guys are my heroes.

Nice shop, too. Can you please send me the address to your shop as I have a bunch of metal shavings I'm going to ship to you so you can throw them all over your shop floor.
