Nice job Al! Looks like you still remember how to shoot the big gun after shooting mostly Sporter last year!

Michael, you did pretty good, too. After 2 weeks of the Northeast season, it's already looking like there'll be some stiff competition up here this year!
Todd

Congratulations Al, great shooting in those conditions for the new Holbrook record. It didn't take much to get the cob webs out of the two rifles.

Paul, looking at the pics in a previous post, you built some real nice benches, glad to see you all had fun and congrats to all of you.

Joe

Congratulations Al,That is some mighty fine shootin'.

Keep smiling,

Charlie

Congratulations Al, 20 x's is a lot on a good day let alone when it's windy! Nice agg too. Was looking forward to shooting with you again, now I'm not so sure.;):D See you this summer.

Hi Guys,

First a big thank you to Paul for providing a great rang with great benches, job well done! I hope some of you in the East can make it to Holbrook for one of Paul’s matches. He has worked hard to make it happen.

Todd, yes it felt good getting behind the old 10.5 again. Mike was chasing me the whole match. That new Myers built 10.5 is a shooter. Mike will be the man to watch this year.

Joe, thanks for your help in picking a good lot of Black Box. Your help and encouragement means a lot.

Charlie thanks a lot. How’s the AG experimenting coming along?

Ken, it seems you had a good day yesterday also, congratulations to you. But…what’s this BS about “Gray Beards” in the other thread? Us older guys have to shine once in a while…you should know! Hope we can get together this year. Perhaps at the “Tom Miller”?

Al :)

Good shooting Al. I am not suprised as I watched you and Penny shoot at the Nationals last fall.

Friend Al Hadfield

Friend Al:

I limit my congratulations, on this forum, to State, Regional, and National Matches....but my friend, I am so very proud of your 250-20X, that, even though you used a gun built by my good friend Bill Myer's, I want you to know I am proud of your shooting....Bill makes some killer guns...

Say HI to Penny for me.......

Your friend, Bill Calfee

Bill,

May you stand corrected. Al was shooting that great Turbo you put together for him a few years back, and this was not his first 250, or 20x target with that gun. But, I will say that I have never seen Al, or for that matter anyone else, shoot any better in conditions like we were facing yesterday.

It takes the right combination of a great shooter and a great gun to accomplish what Al achieved yesterday.

Dave

Hi again,

Thanks Jim!

Bill, Dave is right, you must have forgotten that you built 10.5's for Penny and I as well as a Sporter for me. This is going back a few years. To paraphrase my hero Charlton Heston..."...they will have to pry my Calfee out of my cold dead hands..." Thanks very much for your kind words.

Al

Paul,
Thanks for all the work you put into bringing a fine match to Holbrook; from building some fantastic benches, strengthening the targets holders, and providing a fine lunch!!! Your hard work is appreciated.

Al, once again, congratulations on the fine shooting. I don't think I was chasing you as much as I was trying not to fall too far behind. You did real well, my friend.

Dave, I always enjoy shooting a match with you. I'm looking forward to Pinnacle.

And Russell, thanks for joining the first match at Holbrook. You did really well for your first attempt at this game. Hope to see you at some other area matches.

As always, I had a great time. Thanks to all.

Best,
Michael

To all,
Thanks for all the kind words.
Mike, That is a great shooting and looking gun! Who made the stock?

Dave, I didn't see that you were shooting Penny's Calfee.

Bill, You made over half the guns that were on the line as I bought BAD BRAD that you made for Brad Niece.

Al, The first 250 at Holbrook! great shooting! Thanks for staying and calling the Airgun match.

Russell, Enjoyed meeting and shooting with you.

Hope to see you all back May 18

Paul

Hi Guys,

Just a quick word about Russ. Russ started getting interested in BR a little over a year ago. He got a factory Anie, built himself some wind flags, and came by the farm for a little practice a couple of times last summer. This was his very first BR match, shooting it without his wind flags as he forgot them. By-the-way, he is 72. Makes most of us look like spring chickens. Russ does not do 'puters although that may change. I will pass on your best wishes.

Al

Paul,
The stock was designed and finished by Bill Myers. He picks out the blanks and has them shaped and in-letted by ? (sorry I forgot the wood worker's name) - maybe Bill can supply it.

Bill gave me a price for a high end piece of maple blank that he came across. I told him to go with it and I'm thrilled with the results.

I had some discussions with Bill on building my first custom and he gave me the options, pros and cons. Bill is a fine gentleman to work with and possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience on rimfire rifles.

I also want to thank Brad Niese, Joe Friedrich, and Alan Hall sharing their knowledge. A special thanks to Gordon Eck for spending the time in emails and on the phone answering questions and explaining technical issues.

Best,
Michael
