Where did everybody go?

Comon guys, I know I shouldn't be calling the kettle black(I haven't been able to attend any matches yet myself), but if we want these clubs to keep holding matches we're going to have to figure these gas prices out and make the matches anyway. Chuck and company throw a good match and it is a great range, let's support him. Thanks for all of your hard work Chuck. Gary

Gary,
Chuck holds one of the nicest matches I've been to. It's competitive and friendly. I've not made it to as many as I should have in the last two and a half years but next to Wabash it's the closest. I will shoot Hillsdale, Livonia (and possibly Washington County if I feel I can make it a 18 hour day to shoot both and drive both ways not staying overnight), Wabash and hopefully a time or two Wood Township since they may go to 4 cards (plus the Nationals). But Hillsdale is a wonderful match and the folks are awesome.

I think we are seeing what gas prices and ammo prices are doing to our local matches. We had an ARA match at Cadillac on Saturday and only had 3 shooters. Cadillac is the farthest north of the ARA matches in the area and I am sure this hurts us. Hillsdale is 190 miles for me and if I have to travel alone it just cost too much. Hopfully these match directors will keep things going and not give it up. We allready lost Central Michigan this year and I don't know how long Cadillac will last. The ARA is still the best game going!

Mike,
You are correct. The gas prices are probably effecting folks travelling. Ammo prices are not. Wind seems to effect more travel than anything. Gosh, Cadillac must have been a hurricane. It's, I'm guessing 6 hours from me so it would be difficult. I think with the economy folks are trying to pick and choose matches for lack of thinking about supporting the very clubs that hold them. But without some investigation of some changes it may continue. I commend you if you went to Cadillac and shot. The challenge is what we're supposed to see. IF IT WERE EASY THEN EVERYONE WOULD DO IT! See you soon.
