im new to shooting BR Ihave 101/2 40x that will 10 7 or 8 targets then it will throw a 8 and then it will come back and 10 then when I move down it will be off for one shot then it will come back the next 7 or 8 targets .no wind
 
I am quite a newbie too,but have learned that the rest is very important in this game.You can have the best rifle in the world,without a good rest you will never see it's full potential.Make sure all is well aligned and stays that way if you pinch the bag.If the rear is off center it will have influence.

Benchrest is a combination of all factors,one thing wrong and you will see results drop.When I started a year ago I was shooting around 230 240,yesterday my card was a 250 18X.

Experiment a bit with ammo,give rws R50 a try,my annie realy loves it.

Remember fiddeling with the rifle is half the fun although it may drive you nuts from time to time.

Ken thanks for the reply .No but it is vary still my range is in a north south dir and my winds are from the south most of the time at my back
 
Try using flags, what they show you will probably suprise you. Sounds typical of "dead calm" conditions. I never seem to do that well when it's that calm. Seven or eight tens in a row then an eight or nine. There is always something happening out there, just sometimes, you can't see it.

When changing rows, slide your rifle back and forth to check tracking. Shoot a sighter off to the side of the record target to cinfirm everything is OK. Not uncommon for the POI to change slightly from the top of the target to the bottom.

im from boonville ind i orderd some flages i put up some tapes to track some of the wind till my flags come

I have an aluminum strip of 2cm wide which I place in the rear bag and compress the ears so it is in the center between them.Than I turn the bag so it is pointing straight and in the middle of the front bag
