A fellow called me a while ago and asked where the rimfire "opportunities" were relative to Yuma, Arizona. I told him I would get back to him and need some reasonably accurate info in terms of distance and venue.
The first place I'd go is to Dan Killough's websight and his different range locator maps around the country for both ARA and IR. Naturally, everything won't be listed there, but it's as good a place to start as any.

Well I am originally from Yuma, Arizona. It would depend on what kind of rimfire "opportunities" he is looking for.
For three position, four position or prone rimfire shooting, Phoenix at Ben Avery Range would the be way to go, maybe in Tucson also.
As for ARA, San Diego would be be closest with Inland Benchrest in Redlands California be the next closest. Haven't seen any other benchrest disciplines in So. Cal or Arizona.
Other then that, he would have to try to get something going on his own which could be tough since they removed all the benches and tables on the small bore range at the local shooting range, plus being a public range it would hard to get a few spots reserved for a few hours in a day unless he shows up early and gets equipment on them.
Called back and the Mrs. answered. She sounded very positive and wrote down the info. She also indicated that a couple or three hundred miles was "nothin'". Sounds like our kind of folks.
