Help new to benchrest

ok i have been shooting live in North Dakota not much to do so i wanted to get started on benchrest shooting so i want to find a 22 that i can upgrade and make it into the gun i want with stocks and barrels and what not i'm looking at the cooper or getting a rem 40x is there better choices for the scope thinking a 36 weaver fixed with a genes mounting or get a leopold fixed ok thanks for all the help
 
Great sport to get into. Always nice to get a new shooter. Now as for equipment to start with and build up. One you can get for a fair price is a Ancshutz with the match 54 action. If you got a new enough one with the 5071, or the 5018 trigger you will have a nice trigger no need to upgrade there. IMOP. This is a very good starting point. You can shoot it like it is and be good and build up as you go and have a top competitive gun. The Weaver T-36 is a great scope to no need to spend any more money on a scope then that.
