Hawkeye borescope

Need some advice. I'm in the market to buy a Hawkeye borescope. The kit I'm looking at is the 17" with angled eye piece and a mini mag light. Have any of you used the super nova lighting system and are they worth the money? Also, would I be better off going with a 22" kit? The longest barrel I would be using it on is a 26" unless something changes in the future which I don't foresee.

Your opinion will be appreciated and acted on.
 
I just bought the 17" kit from Sinclair. I put one of the led upgrades in the mini-mag and it is quite bright. That cost me $6.95. :D
 
borescope

I have used the borescope and the mag light is more than enough light.You definitely do NOT need the light upgrade.The 17 " will work as you can look from the chamber and the muzzle.

I also tried the LED upgrade for the Mag Lite, and it's a great improvement. I also got a rear "push button option" for the Mag Lite from the same company, (that's pretty neat too) . . . . I just can't recall where I got it.

Don't even consider the "angled eyepece" for the Hawkeye borescope. That's quite an expensive option. It does work very well. However, it's body is too large and in most cases it contacts the stock. That huge body prevents it from getting into position.

Bore scope with nite eyes

I just switched to the LED lights. The clarity is best described as like the difference between day and night from the incandescent light.:D No glare at all.
 
I bought an LED upgrade for my borescope and took it back off. I had a hard time distinguishing colors under the bluish light. determining the difference between carbon and copper is easier for me when using the incandescent light. I am surprised at the very positive response from many on this site. I can't explain why my experience is so different, but since it only costs 10$, I would encourage others to try it and decide for themselves.
 
I did a LED upgrade(1/2 watt for the light---had to put an old lens from a jewlers loupe into the Magligh to concentrate the light
