Haverkamp finished. Pics up to share. stock polished!!

Fellas i just wanted to share with you some pics of the new Haverkamp rifle that i finally have completed. It turned out pretty good. Tom fitted a bartlein 8 twist 6br barrel to the action for me a while back and boy does it shoot good!! I also have a bartlein ppc barrel that came off a BAT action with 300 rounds down it, and i am going to have it set back and fitted to this action. The rifle is set up for HV 13.5 pounds with the ppc barrel installed. The action is really smooth, the bolt lift is really nice. I shot some .5" 250 yard groups with it this morning with the 6br barrel and this stock was really comfortable. I am not crazy about the drab colors and i think i will have my good buddy Jim give it a paint job. other than that i think its going to be great! I just wanted to share this with you fellas, as i have been talking about it for a while now. Here it is, enjoy! Lee

Nice piece. The latest research indicates it's the right color as well. :)

The stock is a TMBR, a tom meredith design. Tom also did the stock work for me. he is another great fella. Im not real sold on the color. I dont like flashy colors but this one is a little drab. I got a buddy that will fix me right up though. I just need to pick another color. I saw a gold rifle that Ronnie Long built that looked fabulous. Im not much of a gold kinda fella but i may give that a shot. It sure looks good on a rifle.
My good friend Tom Haverkamp sure has a nice action folks. I know there a lot of nice one on the market already and if tom would add a coned bolt to this one it would be a slam dunk. I must say though, that feeding this rifle this morning was every bit as smooth as any coned bolt rifle i have. Not one hiccup!! I hope the ppc barrel feeds the same way!! Lee

Looks real good Lee. Maybe just a nice high gloss clear coat finish would give it the little bit of flash you're looking for.

If I were going to shoot a fiberglass stock that would be the color for me. That would go well with the matte finish on that nitride treated Lawton I have sitting at home. If I could get 1/2" flats on each side of the forearm and a barrel channel of 1.700" I'd buy one.

I talked with a few body shop guys yesterday and i think im going to give the stock a wet sand polishing. It will be a lot of work but i think its the proper thing to do. I see way to many painted stocks with chips in the paint, plus i could use that 200 bucks it would cost to pain the dam thing to buy bullets and powder. I think im really going to like this stock design. it feels really good to me! Thanks Lee
