Thank god they stand behind there product, even for dumb asses like me.

While at the CFRC, I talked Glen T. into a cart race, were you just let 'er roll down the berm, unmanned. Mine was winning until it bounced and the front tire turned sideways and stuck in the drainage area in front of the berm. The whole rig did a end over and everything was on the grass. I figure this is were I broke it but did not find it until mid-October. No more unmanned cart races for me LOL. Sent the stock back Oct 22 and they got it Nov 2nd. I received the replacement stock on Dec 17th, 56 days after I shipped it to them!

Thank You Thank You Thank You McMillan!

This is a pic of the cart and rifle and the dumb ass(me) the day before on either the 700 or 800m berm, which could be the same one as where my "dump" happened. You can see the ditch were the wheel stuck.... hummmm extra dumb eh.... we even though so too once they were in motion LOL. The blue thingy hanging from the cart is a rain cover for the rifle and the bags are someone else's, Claude's I think.

Am I..........

reading this post right????? You loaded up your cart with your rifle and sent it down a hill- unmanned- for a "race"?:eek::eek:

Ha!

Hi Keith

O.K.
That just might explain the new McMillan stock now.

Of course you didn't tell me the first part so I was a bit curious .
The internet is a fine place to learn new stuff.............

You probably have done this, but anything worth doing once is worth doing twice.:D

Take right hand and open it flat. Raise said hand to a position behind head with the palm facing the head. Move hand forward, very swiftly, several times. When the task is completed make yourself a coffee, sit down and reflect on what you did.

You should pass this onto your miscreant friend to perform the same duty.:D

Hi Ian

I did sugest a "Canadian stock maker" when Keith mentioned that he had a slight problem.
Then the conversation went in another direction.

I did sugest today that he use the bedding compound that I purchased from you to glue it back in.

How about showing a few more of your different stock patterns and marble finishes etc. on this forum in another post ?

It's nice that they replaced it for you but you have to ask why it broke after only a spill like that???

Wouldn't be that uncommon Ian. The design of a stock is typically for an intended application. Generally, the lighter the stock the more sensitive the stock especially when you use it for non-intended applications.

Typically (but not always the case) the stronger the stock the heavier the stock. Not sure what your stock weighs but perhaps you can tell us how much lighter your F-class Speedy stock (nice stock by the way) compared to the McMillan stock.

A really nice plus about McMillan stocks is that they design a stock to fit an application, I.E. Rem. 700 bdl system. The bottom metal flows smoothly into the surrounding exterior stock material. They normally will not sell a stock just for a sale. If it doesn't fit (following traditional lines) they will tell you and in most cases will not recommend it! Unlike some stock suppliers. Yup, strong enough to support a car (heavy enough as well)...and it follows traditional stock inletting practices… like a pig fits in a Ms. Universe beauty pageant!
