Just up on 6MMBR aand this is what they had to say about Jackie and his rifle.

Triumph in Texas: Jackie Schmidt Shoots 0.1118 5-Target Agg at 100 yards with 30 BR — Best in History:D
Texan Jackie Schmidt, using a 13.5-lb 30BR Heavy Varmint rifle, has shot a pending NBRSA world record 5-target, 5-shot-per-target Aggregate at 100 yards. Jackie’s 5×5x100 Agg measured 0.1118! How small is that? To help our readers visualize this, the illustration at right shows what a SINGLE 0.111″ 5-shot group (with .30-cal holes) would look like. Jackie’s actual measured group sizes for his five-target Aggregate were: .153, .093, .120, .100, and .093.

Great job Jackie!

Weird place to post kudo's, but I'm in! :)

What I like about that article on 6MMBR.com is the quote "Jackie gave credit to his rifle...."

That's a load of CRAAAPP!!!!!

:D:D:D:D

Stand up and be counted Jackieeeee!!!!...... credit goes to YOU for putting it together correctly, making and maintaining brass (30rds... LOVE IT!!), finding the load and last of all steering it through the swimming pool. I'd like to believe that Jackie's game has evolved through the years he's been here on BRC and this is truly a culmination of ideas and skill.

I shoot a thirty some...... And I gotta' add this about it too, it takes a seriously dedicated MAN's man to steer a 30cal over the course of time required for an agg.

In this case more than any I've ever seen.... IT WEREN'T ABOUT LUCK!!!!!

LOL

al,
i think its a good spot. while jackie is a short range shooter and lets all know how things are going, one of his biggest contributions ( in my opinion) is right here, in the gunsmith forum.
he is not a gunsmith who was taught how to use a lathe, he is an expert machinist that has applied his talents to benchrest gunsmithing.
ohh and not bad shooting either...

This forum is where I have the greatest contact with Jackie, and I value the knowledge he is willing to share with the rest of us. I have read enough of his postings here that I think of him as a friend and mentor. When I saw the posting on 6MMBR I had to share it with those that visit here.

Great job Jackie, and it's the shooter more than the rifle. If I was a young man and going into gunsmithing I would try to hook up with someone like Jackie or the other master machinists on this board and try to learn even a tenth of their knowledge.

Great shoot'n Jackie!!

Humm, I was half expecting that he was using the new 8208XBR powder. Instead it was H4198.
