I just bought a harrells powder measure custom 90 and it just is not very accurate. It might through a charge at 28.0 the next one will be 27.7 or 28.5 this is all with VV n133 does everyone have this problem or is it just mine..
I'm sure I will need to weigh every charge that is put through this powder measure and the only reason I bought the dam thing was so I didn't half to do all that extra work..

If you're getting that kind of inconsistancy with a Harrell's measure and N133 it sounds like your technique needs some refinement. Harrell's recommends, or at least used to, that the fill and dump strokes be slow and gentle with no rapping of the handle at the end of the stroke for uniformity. I'm about as uncoordinated as they come, but I can throw charges much closer than what you're getting with N133 when I'm throwing H4895, and lots closer with N133 with either my Harrell's or BR-30 Redding measures.

It just takes practice. People throw charges lots of different ways. Just make sure you do the exact same thing each time.
It will take a few days of playing around with it before you start getting consistent drops.
Good luck..

I bet if you call Lynwood he'll tell you to send it back for him to check and if its the product that's bad he'll stepup to the plate and do what it takes to make it right, I've never dealt with a nicer guy!! call him ,,,,,,,,,,,,, but first work on your stroke, I've got a 90 and it's dead nuts on every time

I also have a br 30 and its alot closer than this one,and and I have been working on my stroke sence I was 16...But maybe I'll go work on it right now.
Thanks for the input.

Any powder measure, whether is costs $30 or $300, if it measures by volume and they all do, will be subject to how dense the powder is in the measure and your technique. I have the 90 and after loading it with whatever powder I am using, normally 133, I rap the body with a plastic handled screwdriver a few times to get the powder settled. Then I throw a couple of charges to get the powder flowing into the chamber good. I then raise the handle and tap the stop two times, then dump the load slowly. That is just my technique. What you have to do is develope your own technique and never vary it. And by the way, say you are using 50 clicks as your load. From day to day and even during the day that setting will throw slightly different weights. Always check your click setting for weight before loading. It is the weight of the charge that is important not the volume......Donald

and a new measure needs a break in period...well a coating transfer period.
little things that help cut static electricity......
i had the same problem with 133 when i started in br(not that long ago)......i have not gotten better than 2 tenths.....but with 8208...more like a half of a tenth!.....

8208

Where can I find some of this 8208 t-bird that I here so much about..
Do you need to know somebody to get it.Cause I have never even seen it.... One pound, eight pounds,20 pounds I dont care I just want some!!!!!!

I had the same problem with my Harrels measure when I first got it, but after using it for a while it just got beter and better.
I am sure it needed a running in period before becoming consistant.
