Hardening Newlon die body's

I am looking for a facility that is familiar with heat treating Newlon
die body's. They cannot be laid down in an oven in a corner, so
this is rather specialized.

No, they are not hardened as purchased in blank form. I have both 12L14
and 416SS. They are hardened after reaming, reamers don't hold up well
when you ream 50rc die blanks. Newlon also does not sell hardened blanks

Newlon has both blanks, stainless and 12L14. Fireball has the equipment to harden both. I believe done in a vacuum to prevent scaling. Just tell them what you have. The dies I've had done have been fine. Gonna make a couple out of A2 and send them off soon.

There is a fellow there that is familiar with doing dies, ask when you call.
