handloading again - primer question

I've been handloading since I was old enough to start deer hunting, which was 12 at the time. However, I stopped at about 20 which was 16 years ago. I became real serious about it at 19 with my .22-250. I've since rebarreled with a Pac-Nor chambered in .22-250. Since I've started big game hunting again, I also want to handload for my 30-06 again.

I picked up a pound of Varget for the .22-250. My favorite primer was either the CCI 200 or 250 depending on the powder I was using. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to locate any CCI's locally. Local shops have had Federal 210M, Remington 9 1/2, and today the Sportsman's Warehouse had some Winchester LR's in stock. I ended up picking up a couple 1000 packs of the WLR primer. Is there any reason I should avoid working up a load with these? I have a friend who will gladly buy them from me if other primers are more desireable. What primers are preferred?

Thanks.

Roy

ETA - I plan on replacing my .22-50 dies with the Redding Competion 3-die set. The micrometer neck sizing and bullet seating die, along with the bump die (I think that's what the 3rd die is).

I do need to replace my Lyman Spar-T press with something much less flexy. The Forster Co-Ax has interested me since the case seems to align better with the dies, but I'm not sure if it's completely necessary if I'll be using the Redding Comp dies. Suggestions on a press? My setup will be in the house downstairs, so spent primer containment is very important.

The best mildest Large rifle primers I found in the 22-250 were the
Remington 9 1/2. CCI 200 my next favorite.

Winchesters are like magnum primers very hot good for hunting go bang in any weather condition especially the colder climates but just don't group quite as tight as these others.

for a hunting/varmint rifle there's nothing wrong with WLR primers or your press, in a 22-250 if your powder doesn't work try Hodgdon H380 ( upper end of load window), for your 30-06 try H4831SC or AA3100,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

the wind is my friend,,,,,,,,,,,,,

H-380 is what I used to use. That was when 38-ish grains was the max, not the current 41-ish grains. I've decided to stick with the "extreme" powders. Temperature spreads of 100 degrees are not uncommon throughout a calendar year.

I have always used the Remington primers in my Remington 22-250 with IMR 4350 with very good results. For a inexpensive reloading press take a look at the Lee Classic, I think I saw them advertised on the web at Cabella's for 75-85 bucks, it is bullet proof.

Go to any gun show and look for used RCBS Rock Chuckers. As anybody with time in the reloading racket will tell you the first half dozen are easy to find.

Don't topics/questions of this nature rightly belong in the "Factory/Hybird" forum, not Centerfire BR?

Yeah, you're probably right. Though, I'm a bit confused why Factory/Hybrid reloading discussions are different than Centerfire BR reloading discussions. I know I'm new here, but could somebody explain why there isn't a Reloading section and then the Factory/Hybrid and Centerfire BR forums could be left for discussions about the actual rifles themselves?
