So are you asking if its worth that? a barrel with 1000rds really has 1600. Either way youll replace it so add the price of a barrel and chamber job before you get started and youll have a 20yr old br rifle for the same price you could get a used panda with a nice stock and jewell trigger.

I will agree $1300 is pretty top dollar for a Hall but they can be excellent rifles. is there any possibility of shooting the rifle before you purchase? Without a great barrel it is priced way too high. As stated earlier don't pay much attention to round count it is seldom accurate .

Nothing wrong with a Hall action as long as you keep the lugs greased well. Aaron French shot a couple of teen aggs with one of his Halls at Midland last year. You don't see as many Halls being shot anymore as people have gone to whatever the current popular actions that are being shot. Allan Hall has also concentrated on building rim fire actions instead of center fire actions. There is a link to an article on the competition board to the full results of this years Cactus Classic. It has the complete equipment list for the whole match of what everyone was shooting. Strangely enough, the equipment list for the bottom of the list looked almost identical to what the top 20 shooters were using.
