H4198 Lot#?

I am just curious to know if any of you 30BR shooters have a favorite lot number of H4198? I have only had two different lot numbers myself, lot 4757 and lot 4804. I have noticed that lot number 4757 is about 30fps faster than the later of the two lots per the same weighed charge. I am out of both lots now and just picked up another 8lb of lot 4766. I havent shot any of it yet so i cant report anything about it, but i just wondered if there was much difference on average from one lot of 4198 to the next? Like i said, just curious. Let me ask something else please while i have your attention. I have been tossing the idea around about buying a bore scope. I see that you can purchase the scope a couple different ways. One way with an adjustable focus, and the other non adjustable focus. Can anyone here from experience comment on the non adjustable focus? If i were buy something like this, it would be for personal enjoyment only, as i am a very curious fella. I am definitely not a professional. So my question would be, Is the adjustable focus a must? Either way i am still not sure i will even ever buy one, but if i were to??? Lee

I have a Hawkeye 17 and if it has any adjustments, that has escaped me. I use it Quite often,
and it is always an education. I promise, some of your cleaning methods will evolve
 
Bob is right on about using the borescope to examine cleaning effectiveness. It's also a great tool for checking new barrels, chambers & crowns. If you tend to buy any used rifles, especially with CM barrels, it will help you sort the junk (pitted significantly) from the good ones. It's interesting how you can look down the bore of a barrel in good light with the naked eye, and it looks clean & shiny; put the borescope in & find a horror story. I would strongly recommend the focusing eyepiece & the 90 degree mirror, but I haven't found much use for the 90 degree eyepiece attachment, and it is right expensive.

Hi Art,
You might check with Brunos or the factory and see if they are offering a $75. coupon on the borescopes. When I bought mine a few years ago they had a coupon and $75 is $75 ! In these economic times they might still have that coupon or might be willing to do that deal again.

I just happened to get a Hawkeye catalog in the mail today. I called their 800 # and asked about the coupon and she said they haven't offered it for a couple of years but that if you were not in a rush, they will be doing a SHOT show special at the next SHOT show and they will have a coupon or discount deal working and Bruno's would get that deal to pass on.

I have thought about getting an ffl a few times now just so i could attend a shot show. It is really painful knowing there is a place to go that would dry my tongue out, and i cant be a part of it. it sucks!! LOL!!
What about the 4198 fellas? There must not be much of a difference in lot numbers to matter much to folks, or its a big old fat secrete that no one is telling about? LOL!! Have a good evening fellas, Im off to rest my head! Lee
