H322

I tried it in my 6ppc since it seems to be popular, but as it turns out we prefer Benchmark. :)

Does anyone use this stuff any more
Dennis Brame shoots H322X in his 6PPC's and does well. Usually wins at least an agg or two in the SE Region. I don't know the details of how he uses it though.

Just looking at the recent Rockingham NC results Dennis had a -.24-0.25 agg in Sporter, VL and HV.

Consistant accuracy load in my 222s' ( Rem. 700 BDL & a Hart barreled Sako Vixen) is the Hodgdon recommended: 22.2 grs. H322 with any quality 50 gr. bullet, in my rifles seated .020" off the lands. Holds 1/2 moa or less, 5 shots @ 200 yd. 100 yd. groups are "one-holers".:)

I have a couple 8lb. jugs of a 93 lot that I may get around to trying. Seems like it was pretty good in the old days.

I'm thinking about trying H322X in my new "short 40" since it is about 3/4 grain less than a regular PPC. Right now I need to get a gun ready for Oak Ridge 600 Nationals.

322

45 gr. with 200 gr Hornady in 358 winchester, Deadly and accurate. :D Curt

Bob...the standard load for the 6ppc was 27.5 grains of H322...It was the #1 powder for the 6ppc for a while then came T322, 8202, and N133...
We have a local shooter that beats up on us occasionally he is using H322...

Though I may just get shot for this comment...

I have used h322 extreme both solo an blended with silmilar burning speed powders in a 6ppc for bout... oh... a year or so now, an I have found that by itself, it just doesn't quite give me the accuracy I want from a powder though I do at times run a bit hot to account for wind (why...I have not a clue :)). Though I have had tremendous sucess with it blended with the 18118 lot of 8208 in pretty much every condition from my "home" range here in Oklahoma, as well as condition that of Raton.

I have never been particularly successfull at BenchRest but in using H322 Extreme. Here is what I have found.

In my 6PPC most accurate loads with the 68 grain bullets seem to be around 26.6 grains but I have shot loads as heavy as 30.0 grains with no problems except that it forces me to full length size the brass.

In the 257TED I can shoot up to about 29.5 grains with bullets in the range of 75 Grains, but most accurate loads seem to be below 29.0.
Once the bullets get heavier than 80 grains I go to a slower powder.

I'll wish Jerry (who is one of my mentors to the sport) good health!!! even though doesn't sound like he's sick!!!...lol

I have a Shilen barrel that loves H322 with Bishop bullets!!

Happy Shooting
