Gunsmith recommendations

Hi Fellas!
I'm new to the site and the forum. My husband is an avid shooter and I want to surprise him with a new rifle using information I've obtained from his friend. His friend recommended I use Clarence Hammonds of Red Lion, PA. for the gunsmithing, etc. Is that a good recommendation?
Thank you,

Absolutely, give Clarence a call or go visit him. My suggestion bring your husband. It will be better in the long run. Surprises are nice but I really think Clarence should have your husbands input. And I think your husband will appreciate it more. There are way too many variables when dealing with a custom rifle.

Dana,
Thank you. I guess I could just drive him to Clarence's shop under the pretext of going for a ride. That way it could still have some of the surprise element. Clarence comes pretty highly recommended.

Clarence Hammonds

brendab,
I have just one question. Do you have any single girlfriends like you? Wow, it's rare to find a woman that would think of a gift like a custom rifle for her man.

Clarence Hammonds is an excellent gunsmith and I have used his services many times. If you go to visit him tell him Louie said Hi. Tell Billy, usually in the shop, that Louie said Hi as well.

Keeping the secret.

If your hubby is "into" benchrest shooting at all, there is a good chance that he reads this site.

If you want to keep this a secret, you may want to delete this thread.

He's a lucky, lucky man.
