Have any of you shooters/Gun Smiths ever heard of a Gun Smith by the name of Jim Greenawalt ? He passed on in 1993. I have a bid on a rifle he chambered in .222.Any info would sure help. Thanks, Jim Wrenshall ( M1A )

Jim,

Greenawalt was a well-known benchrest gunsmith from the east coast. I remember seeing his advertisements in late 80's and early 90's Precision Shooting's. His name also popped up frequently in the match results as the assembling gunsmith. Benchresters don't use rifles that aren't up to snuff...and quite a few of them used his rifles, which is pretty telling.

Greenawalt Search

Thanks Justin, Your info helps. I might find him in old era Precision Mags. I have a bunch. Since I will probably own this rifle, it would be nice to know whose barrel it is. The barrel is Stainless, Know nothing else. Jim
