Gun Metal Treatments

Hi Fred: Ni-corr is a surface finish currently used by military contractors, it replaces blueing, chrome plate & other extierior surface finishes on carbon steel. Im told it's real tough, like Glock's Tennifer. Ni-Bor.....I beleive ( but please don't quote me ) if im wrong, its not the first time. Is basically the same but made to get into finer detail area, like rifled bores, bolt bores, and such. It is also much thinner than chrome plate. "only the best for our boys" Ed.

The Ni-Bor (Nickel-Boron) is actually a surface coating, where the Ni-Corr (Nitride-Corrosion resistant) is a type of hardening process treatment, that prevents corrosion (or, increases corrosion resistence) by the simple fact that it truly hardens the outer three to four thousands of the steel, in an electro-chemical process.
