Wilbur finally got everything fixed and since the Crisp Area Gun Club is still down due to bureaucrats, we will be holding the Gulf Coast Regional’s at the Macon Co. Gun Club this year. We hope to see you. Please let one of us know you are coming.

Gulf Coast Update

The range will be open all day Friday.
We will be shooting the yards on Saturday and meters on Sunday. RBA yards will start at 9:00 AM followed by IR 50/50. On Sunday at 9:00 AM, IR 50/50 meters followed by RBA meters.
It sounds like a very good crowd of competitors, Fred and Chuck from AR, the Florida “ Boys” , Alabama “Boys”, I hear SC is sends a few, and Eric and Sandra Uptagrafft of the Army Marksmanship Unit – it’s going to be tough. With all of these we also have six new shooters coming – all from Georgia -plus several from Gold City.

I told them all two-bed non-smoking and this is what I got.
Days Inn - in Montezuma – 478-472-4565 – $79.95 – crazy foreigners
Howard Johnson – Perry 478-987-8400 - Exit 136 sign says $35.99
Super 8 – Perry – 478-987-0999 - Exit 136 - $52.95
Hampton Inn – Perry -(478) 987-7681 – $111.00
Scottish Inn – Perry - Exit 135 – $37.50
Best Western 478-218-5200 - Exit 135 $72.99

Ir 50/50

Bob,your first thread said may 30 yards and meters for IR50/50..has it changed ?? tommy

Schedule

Tommy, I think you're right. It makes it a little inconvenient for guys that shoot on;y one discipline- an extra night at the motel or just shoot one distance for one or both. Whatever?

Ir50/50

Doc, Wilbur has it may 30 yards and meters....tommy

Gulf Coast Regionals

Tommy, did you get your information from Wilbur direct, or the IR50/50 web site. The web site is not engraved in stone and I usually check with the rangemaster or another shooter in the match area. I went to our Match on May 9th and found out it was shot on May 2nd. So it pays to call either Bob or Wilbur. I made my motel arrangements the day it was announced and I doubt I'll get another night at this late date, but will try.

Regionals

Just talked with Bob- all the yard matches- RBA and IR 50/50 will be Sat. and meters for both on Sunday. Probably two relays- 25 shooters confirmed so far. Hope that clears things up. Reason- only have to changes scope settings 0nce.

Shooting Yards Saturday and Meters Sunday MAKES sense! Forget the ‘Scope’ just consider the problem moving target frames between matches!!
Hotels are not really a problem! Stay in Perry – Why – it is only 20 min from the range and a lot better (& Cheaper) than hotels in Montezuma.
Coming from the North it is a no brainier.
Coming from the south it is still a no brainier! Almost the same time driving time (15 vrs 20 min) as staying in Montezuma. If someone is concern about a place to stay send me an email and I will send them some places I have stayed at in Perry.
They range from a bed for $29 up to a suite for $40!
However as a last resort you can stay with me at the State Park only 3 min from the range!:)

Regionals

Doug, I agree with you. The problem is that some people made their plans up when the original posts came out and are somewhat upset (I know because I've fielded some phone calls). The plan as it stands now makes quite good sense and I agree with it after talking to Bob. However, us Type A guys made their reservations and family planning around the original schedule and that posted on the IR 50/50 website. Your offer to find motels in Perry is generous but unless you've done it before, that right hand cut off is easily missed. Per your offer to sleep in your facility, I must respectfully decline. Your a nice guy, but I would have to decline even if you supply the ice cream and beer.

RBA & IR50/50 Regional

The Weather forecasts look great for shooting this weekend!:D
A computer drawing for Benches will be held Friday afternoon.
If you are not planning to get there till Friday night or Saturday morning it would help a lot if you call or email Me or Bob so we can include your name in the drawing.
It would help a lot of you tell us beforehand if you are planning on sharing a bench.
There are already over 30 shooters registered so this should be a great match.:p

If you are staying in Perry at Exit 136 you might check to see if the Hong Kong Buffet (East Side I 75) is still open!
I have had some really great food there.
The other place I recommend is Sonny’s Bar BQ.
I have been to a lot of Sonny’s and this is one of the best I have eaten at.

I will be staying at the Range Friday & Saturday night so come on out!
Doug
