OK, so much for the 484. Any opinions on the G6760 or the G3616

The milling/drilling machine is OK for light work, but for just a little more you can get the T20827 Shop Fox Vertical Mill 8" x 36" from Grizzly...It is a small table but heavy duty milling machine that is a true "MILL" and will last much longer...

Buy the biggest vertical mill that you can afford/get into your shop. I bought an 8X36" vertical mill when I first got started as it was the biggest that would fit through the standard 36" door to the shop I had then. Invariably when working on something, a little more window (distance from head to table) or table travel would really make life a lot easier. The mill I have is in good shape, but I find myself looking through the machinery supply catalogs at the 9X47" and larger mills with lust in my heart. Maybe some day.

ShopFox mill

I have the ShopFox mill mentioned above. Very pleased. I moved up from a benchtop and would agree with buy the biggest mill you can house or afford. I can see occasions when a bigger mill would be great!

Milling Machine

I appreciate all of your opinions. This helps out a lot. i guess bigger is better and you get what you pay for. Looks like my budget may get busted.

Thanks
