Got screwed again...

I went to Fastenal and ordered a box ot 100 10 X 32 X 1 cone point socket screws. They did not have them in stock so I just told them to drop ship them to my shop. They did not arrive in a week so I called back and they had them at the store. I said they were supposed to be drop shipped to my business. They said they would ship them that day. Yesterday, they were delivered by UPS. The outer box was crushed, the inner box was crushed. The plastic bag outside the inner box was ruptured and of course ther were missing screws.

Now it gets even worse. I open the invoice, the screws were billed at $113.00, the shipping was about $8.75 to deliver them less than 3 miles. The total bill was over $130.00 with the remainder being tax.

I called MSC and priced the same screws delivered to my door. $48.46. I called Wilder's a local fastener house the same screws were $52.12 accross the counter. I called Fastenal corporate office and requested they check into the billing. I told them I was sorry but I can't afford to do business with them. If you use their products or services you might want to double check your bill and get some quotes from other vendors.
Yes, I got screwed no puns intended.

Next time, shop around before you buy.

It sounds like you were billed for 1000 pcs. instead of 100 pieces.
