Good, lighter weight joystick front rest for Pdog shooting?

Hi All
Like the post says, I'd like to be ready to hit the pdog towns next year with a good joystick front rest. I've seen the caldwell job but want something of higher quality - smoother and steadier.

I shoot pdogs on my work trips and I'm loaded up with work stuff so use a lighter weight pivoting bench - the top isn't all that big so I want something lighter in weight than say a full size Farley Co-ax II.

Most of my varmint guns have 2 1/4" forends with rounded corners but I'll also want to use this rest at the range - sometimes with narrow sporting forends.

A couple of pics are attached - one of my shooting bench and one of my current caldwell front rest under a Remington. Maybe a shadetree top would work atop the caldwell base?

Thanks!

Rest for prairie dogs

Get a Harris bipod with notched legs and a swivel. I have both a 6-9" (bench) and 9-13" (prone). You can keep it attached to your rifle so it's one less thing to carry and takes up less room than a rest. They are lighter and cost less than most rests. I rarely use a rest any more. - nhk

A Shadetree will work on a Caldwell and just about all others. It uses the standard outside dimension so you can buy several different bags to fit all sizes of fore ends.

Farley Compact, it comes without a base. You could mount it directly to the bench if you wanted.
