good 700rem gunsmith

i am wanting to have my action trued on a 700 varmint rifle. i just dont know who to have do the work. any suggestions? thanks lee

Another real good one is John Brown Jr. Hall of Fame Shooter who has shot his way into the Hall with a Remington action. Good Smith, good prices and quick turn around time.

It would be easier to recomend someone if we new what state your from. You may have an excellent smith near-by, and could do a face to face.

Greg Tannel is one of the best. Voted in the top ten and is fast turn around. There is also Mickey Coleman back East. Also in the top ten. Kenny Jarret. You just have to wait for the great ones. So try to do it when you can be without your rifle for awhile.

What I like too, is I never have to worry about my rifle being scratched, dinged, or coming back with tool marks.

Here is the link to see a 100 yard 5 shot group fired from my first custom rifle, a 20 Tactical I had him do for me last year. I only fired it last week for the first time. This is without my having him do a blue-printed action job, and without using a tight neck reamer that requires case neck turning.

thanks guys i really need a gunsmith now. i just bought a rem 700 vs supposed to be new in the box. i cant get a cartrige chambered in the rifle. i can get the bolt closed but not locked up. crazy i cant figure it out. maybe headspace or the bolt i just dont know. thanks again lee
 
bolt closing?

if you have scope bases installed,make sure the front ones don't have too long of screws(going down into the lug area)and your front action screw isn't too long going up into the lug area,couple of other things,does the serial number on the bolt match the serial number on the receiver,and the roll pin holding the ejector is not protuding out on one side.I had one someone had somehow gotten the tip from a v-max into the lug area,so look in there with a light .
Does the bolt close on an empty chamber,if so disreguard the above info,and look at your die set up if it's not a factory round
