Can someone please explain what type of glue is used to secure an action in a stock (instead of glass bedding) and how to remove the action when it has to come out for some reason, please. I'm working up a BR Remington 37 and want to try the glue in, just to see how it works. I will glass bed the lower guard hardware. Thanks in advance. bob finger

Use a good epoxy to glue the action in. I pre-bed with Devcon or if it's just a thin layer, JB weld. Then I clean up the action, rought the bottom up a little, clean it with rubbing alcohol and glue it in with JB Weld. Do not use High Temp epoxies. The reason why....you use a iron to heat the action and break the expoxy bond. Don't get the action to hot.

Don't forget during the initial bedding to use a release agent. I use Johnson Paste wax.

I usually let a gun set for 48 hours to cure completely before shooting...just for piece of mind.
