Does anyone here use the Gene Beggs Wind Probe?
How much does it help?
Where is there a picture of one?
Where does he market them?

Wind Probe

The Wind Probe is used by most serious rimfire shooters. It works great for telling the shooter the wind speed. It is used with wind flags , it does not replace them. Gene markets them. His # is 432-631-5124 or 432-367-0329.

If you get one you will find that you can make a lot of money with it, just charge a dollar a look from the guys on either side of you without one, if I can ever collect I'll have more money than Bill Gates! LOL.

Only thing

I've gotten to where I won't shoot with out mine. I use three, with a couple of flags. Wife's the same way.

Here's a link to a picture on Dan Killough's site. The half moon girds with black dots and bars with red cups, a couple have white are Gene's Probes.

I've got some on order and hopefully they'll be here soon, for August is going to be a busy shooting month for me.

Dennis is right about others working the probes. I love it when I have some left and right of me for I'm watching them more than my own flags. Actually they are a better indicator for what's going to happen for how many times has one pulled the trigger right when there was a shift or major wind velocity change. Even as new as I'm to this game I've learned that it's just as important to watch your neighbors flags and probes.

The problem I have seen with that type of probe is rain and dew. Just a little on the probe and it seems to drope over. The ones I build for myself does not have that problem. Works during rain or shine.

No problem

Here in Texas, that doesn't seem to be a problem. Haven't had enough rain to form Dew.

fred k. probe

Where can you vew your probe fred k. ????????????

Boer bok
I have seen it in some match pictures but don't remember which ones.
Maybe in last years RBA Nationals, not sure.
I should take some pictures and post I guess. Never tried to post pictures.

fred,

just wondering if you are sponsored by him??

Bill

Yes, Gene pays Fred about $1000.00 a week to write good thing about the probe. He pays me too. There is alot of sponsorship money in rimfire benchrest shooting.

Money?

Oh man, that's what I've been doing wrong, all this time I been sending THEM money for all this stuff! Hey, you think there's a chance for a cash for clunkers rifle deal, I could trade in a prime shape 10/22 and get a $4500.00 rebate on a custom name brand BR rifle.

Dennis, And folks wonder what I smoke in my pipe! What do you think those folks i n D.C would do with clunker guns? Bob

probe

I can tell you from experience that the Beggs probes work. I only have one but in a match a couple of Saturdays ago it was telling me that something was making it move the right but no flags were picking it up (4 tails hanging down) and I thought it might be hung up. But it wasn't lying cause when I shot the bullet went in that direction.

I got a REAL GOOD idea what the liberals can do with 'em.......

Sorry Butch

James,
Gene is only giving me $3000. I'm not happy about that.
Butch

Butch Lambert is not really a "big time name" in br circles. I haven't heard anyone say, " Butch Lambert is going to be there, I'm staying home".
