It has been brought to my attention that Jack Neary was fireforming brass in his friends back yard shortly before the explosion and resulting fire. I'll try to gather more information.:p

The mayor said that there were no reported injuries. Hopefully he is right.

According to the news tonite there were high levels of powder residue, copper, and lead particles in the area.
 
I don't believe there were explosions. My understanding is the pressure in the gas lines in that area went from ounces to pounds causing 15 separate fires. I believe only 1 minor injury reported. I actually heard the evacuation reports before the fire reports as I woke up this morning, Fairport is 10 miles from a nuclear power plant so I immediately feared the worst. Its about 0 * here they have no gas or power there right now Big mess
