The mixed format worked just fine. I think it will help attendance, but with 24 hrs. notice, there wasn't time for many potential UBR shooters to come out. Attendance was low for both, but the club's attendance has been waining and needs more shooters. It was run as two seperate matches run side by side. If you designated UBR, you simply shot the UBR target with UBR scoring and rules. If you shot IBS, you did the same...but shot IBS targets and IBS rules. About the only difference was that the warmup was shortened, but if anyone had needed more time it would have been allowed. I think this may be the future for score shooting. It allows both orgs to come together at a match and shoot. UBR brings in shooters of factory guns and guns other than 30's because of the caliber neutral targets. A UBR custom class gun is essentially a IBS VFS or group gun, so there simply isn't much to change to accommodate everyone. I shot my 30 in UBR and had a good shooting day in spite of some of the toughest conditions I've shot in since the 08' IBS Nat's. I really hope this format helps with attendance, as this club needs the support of more shooters. It's a challenging range and good place to shoot, with a great group of guys. If you're reading this, please make it a point to come shoot with us and try out either format. I do think that combining the UBR and IBS shooters will help make this and other ranges more viable. As for results, I'm sure that UBR and IBS will have them posted soon. I think Ron Jackson won the IBS grand, and I won the UBR segment. I shot over my head but unfortunately was the only custom class shooter to compete at both yardages with the short notice. I had the choice to shoot either and decided to shoot the UBR targets.--Mike
