Gallatin Gun Club Ultimate Benchrest Match

Saturday May 7, the Gallatin Gun Club will host a Varmint For Score benchrest match using the Ultimate Benchrest format. You can get information on the rules and scoring by visiting the website (ultimatebenchrest.com). UBR recognizes a Factory class and uses a “caliber neutral” target system that does not give the advantage to the larger calibers.

Cost for the day will be $25. This will include both yardages as well as lunch. We suggest that you bring at least 100 rounds of loaded ammunition to shoot both 100 & 200 yards. Competitors will all shoot the relays together, but scoring will be between competitors in their respective classes. There will be (4) targets shot at each yardage. Each target has (6) record bulls and (2) sighter bulls. Shooters will have (10) minutes to put (1) shot in each record bull.

Trophies will be awarded in UBR classes that have at least 5 competitors. IBS trophies will be awarded for 1st Place @ 100, 200 and Grand Agg.

The Safety meeting and the match will begin at 9:00AM. We suggest that shooters arrive by 8:00AM to get setup and signed up. Directions to the Gallatin Gun Club are posted on our website: www.gallatingun.com My cell number will be posted on the gate as well as at the end of this announcement. You will need to call to be admitted to the range.

It is our aim to attract shooters in factory class. Many of us have a rifle that we believe shoots very well, but not well enough to shoot against full custom rifles. This is an opportunity to try benchrest shooting without the expense that usually incurs. There should be enough shooters with rest setups and wind flags to help out those who don’t have these items.

You do not have to be a member of any shooting organization to participate and you do not have to be a member of the Gallatin Gun Club. You only need your rifle, ammunition, eye and ear protection and a desire to shoot.

For more information and to let us know that you will be attending, please call or email Rick Fox,
