What Front Rest is "best" I have a Hart...but it will not accommodate the front bag I have......
the bag I do use is "leather" and it does not slide the rifle very well.....

any suggestions? for a new br .22LR shooter?

Are you looking for a different rest or a different top? There are several options out there for both. Also what is your "budget"? That may narrow down your options.

Pop for a new bag from Protector ( call them with your needs ) and look into a JJ Loh rest. I just started using one and am very pleased.
 
Yes....Dust a bit of talcum powder on the bags you have. Keep it handy for whenever your bags become sticky.
