Front Bag, Heavy sand, Yes or No??

I use play sand in the front bag and in the ears of the rear bag. Heavy sand in the base of the rear bag.

I came up with a little mix of my own. not sure how it will work, but i will soon know. I used about 25% HS about 37% play sand and 37% course granular sand. Like i say, I will see how it goes. Lee

Interesting post, Skeetlee.

I would be interested in the philosophy behind everyone's choices if anyone can elaborate and maybe combos tried that just didn't work.

Thanks guys.

Mike

My new front rest came filled with heavy sand so i shot it that way for a couple weeks. I had a few unexplained flyers from time to time, and i cant help but feel they are from the front bag being to hard. Time will tell! Lee

I use black-eyed peas in home-sewn bags -- that may not meet the legalities of the rules and may not be as good as a fancy bag in a competition-syle rest, but I use 'em because that's what I have.
