Friend Lynn, man I just don't like those big ole long threads and I wanted to make sure everybody gets a chance to read this.

Lynn, you've got about as much business on the rimfire forum as I would in a Harvard Med forum. You want to come on here and bust James Pappas everytime he says a word about anything, and you have stated many times on this fine forum about how if you want to win big time that you gotta have a certain builders rifle.

Lynn, I've never had a problem with any shooter at any match that I've attended, and unlike you that would be a bunch of matches. Believe it or not, some of my best friends in rimfire shoot your hero's rifles.

Where I come from a man that pop's his jaw like you better be able to put up or shut up. I'm about to lay out a little wager for you and understand up front that I'm a man of my word.

There are three extremely big matches coming up this year and that would be the two remaining PSL shoots and the ARA Nationals. I will bet you 5000.00 cash a match.

Easy enough right, Man you can win 15000.00 cash and all you gotta do is say yes and put the money up before each match.

Now Lynn you gotta be smart enough to know that a 2500 dollar gun ain't got a chance in hell of beating one of your hero's 7000 dollar super guns or are you just stupid?

Here's the deal, your hero's gun wins, YOU WIN, If not I WIN, simple enough?

Line in the Sand

Looks like a line has been drawn in the sand or the ball is in the other end of the court.

I hate to get back on this fine forum, but I just have to know. Kirk, do you really only have 2500.00 in that rifle? If so, that means you won enough at Kettlefoot to pay for the whole damn gun. Were there any 7000.00 guns at that match? Have you named this 2500.00 gun yet? How about "The MythBuster" might work. thanks in advance for your reply.

Tom

P.S. have you got Richard Gorham number? PM me if you don't mind.

Nope!

MONEY.
But then you have to have a challener. I doubt Lynn could raise enough to cover everyone backing Kirk dollar od dollar. No balls.

Kirk

Kirk, if you want to add another $ 4500.00 to the price of the rifle send it to me. I will jewel it, name it, may try a couple of other barrels for you(I got one that is the best barrel I have ever slugged), and test it at 42 yards till the cows come home.

I bet you won't even charge him to dispose of the old barrel.

I love it

Kirk
Sorry to hear you couldn't get through med school. If you had James Pappas could have been a patient of yours.
I have read your posts about Bill Calfee and understand your dilemna. You found yourself another gunsmith and I am truly glad you are shooting well.

As a non-rimfire shooter I am able to view the posts on this forum with no agenda in mind.I have nothing at all to gain other than to see if I can use something aquired here on one of my rifles.

Let me share with you what I see from a non-rimfire shooters point of view.
I see a fury of posts by yourself mad as a hornet over something Bill Calfee did with a barrel job on one of your rifles.I find nothing at all wrong with that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you feel you got taken voice it and voice it loudly.I hope you are still following me?
Now lets look at James Pappas. He posts on every single thread started by Bill Calfee and has not had a single good thing to say.I say to that everyone has the right to there own opinion.

What I don't understand however is how you stated your obvious disdain for your dealings with Bill and continued on after a brief period of time and James cannot.I haven't seen you complaining about your barrel in quite some time yet James on another thread is 7 pages into complaining how a lady shooter just congratulated somebody on winning a match.

From a purely outside point of view I see James as a long time fixture in this sport.I get e-mails from a very few rimfire shooters(3)and they all wish he would drop the Calfee bashing.

As to worshipping Calfee nothing could be further from the truth.I want to learn what the man has to say and then test any of his ideas that make sense to myself on my own rifles. If his ideas work I use them.If they don't I chalk it up too testing.

It is very hard to read the Calfee posts and try and understand what Bill is saying with the Funny People adding unnecessary drivel to each and every post.I don't mind what some would call stupid questions because we all started somewhere,I just don't get the obvious detractors trying to keep him from posting. To my way of thinking be that right or wrong you skip over the things you find no interest in you don't post interruption after interruption to keep people from reading his posts.

Now if I was a Calfee hater like I find here I would let those who want to read Bill's posts alone. If they want a reverse taper barrel or a tuner on there guns it should help you smart guys beat them.

What is it about letting the man speak that gets the rimfire community in such an uproar? You all admit e builds a good gun don't you? I am beginning to think some rimfire shooters don't know how to use the ignore features available on this forum.

Write me any time you want as I actually do enjoy your posts and know of your accomplishments.I also like the way you got frustrated had your venting period and moved on.If others could follow your leade Bill would still be posting to those interested in reading his thoughts.

P.S. I will think about your challenge.

Lynn, If you read the post on Bills scope mount system you would know that I agreed with and supported Bill in every post I made. If you don't believe me ask Beau. You got 3 emails saying they wished I would not bash Calfee. I have a hundred emails from people who wonder what in world is your problem. As far as Kirks bet with you, we all know you won't take it. Maybe you can get the money from Lou, you know who he is, right? He put up the money for the March scopes. Just in case you haven't notice, you have posted shortly after every post I have made and are usually calling me names or try to embarrass me.

Lynn,
I think it is an easy paper trail on........

That is just out of line. You reply to one person and throw the blame to another. You had better, my friend Lynn, look at Bill Calfee's threads and posts and see that James Pappas has not, as you say.....not had a god thing to say on every single thread.........funny boy....you better live up to the original challenge or just give up. James Pappas has done more for the sport of benchrest...rimfire or centerfire...than you have ever thought of by yourself.

Just answer the question...are you willing to shoot at a rimfire shoot for $15000?

Put up or shut up!

Cogratulations Lynn

James
I am reading a 9 year old copy of the February 2000 issue of Precision Shooting magazine as I type this reply. On page 102 I see the BR-50 International Airgun results.Right under the picture of 1999 World Champion Dave Horner is a picture of Joe Harrison with 2 scope rings both in front of the scopes turret on his airgun.I am glad that in the 5 years Bill Calfee posted here you found 1 thread were you agreed with something Bill said.Hey its a start.

Do I know Lou? Well actually I shoot with Lou and his wife Connie and consider them both to be very nice and cordial people.Neither of them would spend 5 years attacking anybody like you have.
Waterboy

You just found out where Bill got the idea for his scope mount system. 5 YEARS?????? What do you count, in dog years? Lynn, I have grown bored with debating with you. You change the subject, you start name calling when you can't answer a question, You try to embarrass people or make fun of them, You try to blow smoke up everyones a$$. I thought I was bad at debating but I have to say you really suck at it. And as far as Kirks bet, all I can say is" jump frogie"

Lynn,
The challenge was from Kirk to you! The AMC Pacer is a funny deal....I have been to the Indy 500 many times ( I live in Indiana, just 52 miles from the track) but you....I mean you would never understand it. It is much more serious than most benchresters. But I think Kirk was serious on his bet.

Lynn, The Way I Take It You Dont Have To Be The One Shooting The Gun..... You Just Have To Put Up The Money!

Kirk, What Are You Thinking?

Kirk, you can't possibly believe that these $2500 rifles have a chance against a $7.000.00 Calfee rifle. What in the corn bread f#&* are you thinking? One of you guys in Ky. need to talk to Kirk.

Lynn, your initial response to my post was for the most part very sensible and civil. If you will be so kind as to pm your phone # to me I'd love to talk to you.

FOE JAMES with a Question

Kirk
I shoot 600 and 1,000 yard benchrest for about 9 years now.I try and be as helpful as possible at all the matches I attend and I've only purposely missed one match.I shoot with my father and have since day one.
Anybody friend or foe can call anytime even James.
I get up around 4 AM pacific time and get home around 6PM six days a week.Sunday is my only free day and I'm usually shooting by 9AM and get home 30 minutes after the range closes at 5PM.
