Fresh Off The Duplicator

Fresh off the duplicator. Rough sanded, no finish. The wood butt extension is to prevent splintering of the butt by the cutters, it will be removed prior to pad installation.

would you call that 'quilted' maple?

al

Various names depending on the local custom: Quilt, pillow, flame, shell, sausage, popcorn.

The tree this one came out of was cut on the North Olympic Peninsula 17 years ago. Ten miles from where I sit, not too far from where you are.

So are you doing this as a business?

No, just a backyard hobby.

Below is the beast that lives in my shop:

The NorthStar Master Carver. Ugly thing, Not recommended for children. I have posted the photos on other gun forums, here is another go for those that have not seen them.

I'll bet it's hard on bits! ;)

Nice hunk of wood.

We have Gilmers just down the street here. Good wood supplier. I got a plank of snakewood big enough for 6 pool cues for 275.00 a while back.

I love wood

Did you make those cues between centers, or through the headstock?
