I've heard for a long time that the large Weatherby rounds had relatively long freebores to allow higher velocities at lower pressures.
I also understand how freebore length can be specified for allowing bullets to be seated into the lands with enough bullet seating depth.
I looked at three Pacific reamer prints and all had freebore diameter of .2245" for three different .224 rounds.
The question I have is whether or not freebore----at about .0005" over bullet diameter----is also a factor in bullet alignment with the throat ?
In other words, is ZERO freebore a detriment to accuracy ?
