Forward pressure point

I am having a discussion with some friends on free float vs forward pressure pads/points. So as not to influence any answer here I won't detail my own views. I would just like to know who believes in which one and why. Now I know full well "Every gun is different" and some may do better than others, but what is the most common and favorite way?

A rifle with one piece stock will most often responde to the better with a free floted barrel, as it removes stress changes produced by the stock and by the shooter .

Probably 99%+ of purpose built BR guns are floated.
Pressure points were replaced by tuners some time ago.

I believe nemohunter said it all. Pressure points change to much with weather day to day.
