A good friend of mine has given it to me as a gift. He said that he inherited this old shot gun from his grandfather but he never have interest of shooting. Can someone share me some information about this particular firearm?
SN85854.

Thanks in advance.

Cassidy and Brian,
Thanks. I tried both but no info was given and only a tad bit on the gun maker. The only information I have is these rifles were made for the farmers back in the old days. Although it's in excellent condition, I think I am not brave enough to try and shoot due to age of the firearm. I guess I'm just going to mount it on the wall where I can look at it at times

Sal, that's probably..............

the best course of action, but here's some more info. I came across when I was ready to give up.

Forehand & Wadsworth, Worcester, Mass. est. 1871 & operated under that name until 1890 when it became the Forehand Arms Co. Hopkins & Allen purchased the co. in 1902.

Under "Double-Barrel Shotguns"
"Good quality hammer and hammerless doubles but few produced until taken over by Hopkins & Allen Firearms Co. Values from $100 to $1,000 depending on grade and condition."
Standard Catalog of Firearms 2004 pp. 465

You might check to see if it has Damascas barrels, or if they're "Fluid Steel", or some other solid-type.
