.003 spread is what I use, than trim to lowest #. That way all bullets are the same to point.If not pointing .001 is used.

Scott: I think if I used an .003 spread I would be changing my pointing die to often, Ive got about 1000 bullet that I have pointed so when I run out of those I'll go to the next batch.This lot# seems to be great.

What are you using to sort by bearing length and where did you get it?

i use a pair of oal lenght gauges on a set of calipers.
install 30 cal inserts and rezero....
as someone pointed out it is not perfect, but a whole lot better than not sorting.
my current lot of bullets has a .020 seperation....
