Fixed Or Variable

Those of you who shoot fixed do you have problems with not being able to turn down the power when the mirage gets bad? Do any of you think there is an advantage to the fixed powers and what are they.

I have nightforce and leupolds on my bench guns and I'm building another one and might want to try a fixed. Thanks for the info.
