Fix for eject problem?

I have a Hall DS right bolt left port right eject.
It will eject brass once or twice fired after that just drops them in the action. The ejector spring seems stiff enough. How does the extractor play into ejection? It's a sliding type extractor. It doesn't slide to freely is this my problem?

The problem is usually the chamfer on the inside of the bolt nose. When short cases pivot after clearing the chamber they strike the inside of the action and kick out from under the extractor. It's possible a lighter ejection spring will solve your problem. Another fix is to bore the inside of the nose and install a ring to get rid of the chamfer.

Plunger spring is a critical aspect. The spring should be mosquito soft. As Tooley said, the case is coming off the cone and smacking the inside of the action and coming out from under the extractor. A soft spring will still eject when the case gets to the port and not bounce inside the action. Start cutting a 1/4 or 1/2 turn at a time using the brass that was spinning.

I have owned a bunch of Halls and have a lot of experience with spinning cases.
