We missed our December match due to the Christmas holidays, so we had a
"makeup" one as soon as we could.

We had six shooters competing in several classes. The weather was cold and
damp, with light, but VERY shifty winds, creating real problems for us all,
esp with up and down poi shifts. Conditions improved thru the match, with
the least wind early on, but the most switchy, then the most wind on the
second card, but more stable, then less wind, and stable also.

Though Larry Pirrone and I both used sub-12fpe guns, Pirrone's was a
springer. I was trying to figure my new mini-gun out, and used a different weight
pellet for each card ... Though the middleweights SEEMED better, its a tough
call as the conditions were changing too.

We fired three 25M "International" targets each, then fired a fifty yard
target on our usual A36 target.

Here are the results:

Shooter Trgt 1 Trgt 2 Trgt 3 25M agg 50yd

Matt Saenz 234 243 243 720/16x 80

WE had a good potluck lunch after, and even did a little plinking and
trading.

Nice shooting Roger. What gun are you using these days?

Ooops,

On review, I notice we were actually using the NRA AR-5/10 targets on the fifty yard leg. These targets are slightly more difficult, though practically speaking the scores remain the same for the contestants. As I examined the Matt Saenz's winning target, I noticed only one shot in ten that would not have taken out the ten dot had it not been for the vertical factor ... windage was spot on. The head/tail wind factor was very significant even with 30+fpe.

It doesn't...those are our 50 yard scores (noted at right of 25 meter)....and they are not in order...so Roger had high score at 81.

Why would a man who has a tube test pellets in the wind?

No, it was my error in implying he was the winner. Matt won the unlimited class, being the only competitor, and had also had high score for the day in the 25M class, but Roger won the high score for the fifty yard leg.
