Correct Depth is the Key
Eley recommends the hit have a 0.011 depth “is what we recommend. If it's any lower, we run risk of getting some incidence of misfires.”
My old analogy of what goes is – like striking a match, if you do it very slowly it will never light, if too fast and hard, you break the match. The ignition is cause by the primer compound being “sheared”, the sheared crystals ignite the powder when hit by the firing pin.
