I'm not sure what you are looking for...you can't just measure spring presure. The mass of the pin and the travel of the pin with the force applied to it add up to inertial mass which does the work.

Hard to say-Depends on the action, as Don says it depends on firing pin mass and momentum, and also firing pin shape makes a difference.

Alan Hall will tell you its not just all about how big a dent you can put in the back of the case either.....there is much more to it than that.
I won't try to explain it for him, for fear of putting words in his mouth....but if you ever see him ask him about it. Seems to make sense.

Correct Depth is the Key
Eley recommends the hit have a 0.011 depth “is what we recommend. If it's any lower, we run risk of getting some incidence of misfires.”
My old analogy of what goes is – like striking a match, if you do it very slowly it will never light, if too fast and hard, you break the match. The ignition is cause by the primer compound being “sheared”, the sheared crystals ignite the powder when hit by the firing pin.
