Could anyone tell me how large and deep a hole needs to be in the center of the bolt for the firing pin disassembly tool? Im looking to put one together for a Borden bolt as they are not the same thread as a remington and i don't have one around to look at.

Also does anyone use anything special to remove the ejector?

On my Alpine, the green (and later black) Remington plastic tool worked perfectly. Not sure what model Borden you have. -Al

My Kleinendorst tool is 0.187" measured with a gauge pin. Edit: and 1.4265" deep.

If its the same style as a Remington, the hole is not critical just need clearance for the firing pin. it should only push on the shoulder.

As far as the firing pin spring removal goes, Jim has a great video on his tool.
Don't tell anyone, but the flat surfaces of the clamp on a harrels combo press can be drilled and tapped for the 1/2-20 shroud on one end the other for a 1/2-13 bolt with a firing pin sized hole drilled out of the center to capture the pin. Screw the shroud in and then the 1/2-13 or whatever bolt you have on the other end until the cross pin on the end of the firing pin is exposed from the shroud and voila!
You can use the 1/2-13 for Remington firing pins (I think) and just get a 1/2-20 bolt for the other end.
