Firing pin bushing?

Hi Guys, I have a couple of Rem 700 bolts that have pits around the firing pin caused by ??? (soft primers probably). Somewhere I have seen a couple of articles on bushing the firing pin and doing away with the pits. Please help me find the information.

Thanks,

Don Carper

Pit marks on bolt

Hi! I just wanted to comment. IMHO the pitting is harmless and is due to leaky, loose fitting primers under high pressure conditions. Bushing may be more trouble than it's worth.

Wish you well......Ted

Although the pits hurt nothing, except they don't look good, bushing will get rid of them.
Contact Gre-Tan rifles, his turnaround time is less than a week.

I have a Farley fire fly that had some pits. Farley just turned a little off the face. perfect now! shoots just as good as it did before it got sent in to. lee
