I am looking for a fireforming load using IMR 8208 to fireform new turned 220 brass in a 6ppc. I wil be using 6mm bullets. Any help would be appreciated.

Fireform with XBR....
Cooper, ya can't get too much XBR in a fireform... Ready to fireform 6mm neck .220Russian case.........
Simply get the forming load to half up the neck (plenty room for the bullet without compression)..
Then fire away... But... Do you have a bit faster powder available.... H322, say...?... Reason being, is that XBR may not 100% fully fireform your brass.... 95- 98%, but not quite to a sharp edge forming....
Heck, even a faster ball powder will do... H335, AA2230.......... Stick powder like 4198.....LT32

I used H322 the last time I fireformed, but I don't use this powder anymore. I have someIMR 4198. Would I fill the cast to the neck or is this too much with 4198?

about 26.0 - 26.6 gr of 4198.... Right to the shoulder neck junction... Plenty to get a nice forming.

8208 for fireforming
I used 28.5g of 8208 and Hornady 58 vmax for fireforming recently. I had to tap the cases to get the powder level down a bit. This load also worked great for removing some oak branches in the way of the 300 yard range.

Jerry I believe the burn rates are so very close...... Some think H4198 is >just a tad< quicker...?
The difference for me is the Hodgdon version has a bit shorter length.... Bit better through the measure..
And...... Just awesome in the 30BR..
Still, my two .222's like the IMR version.... "Just a bit"..
