finding center of hexagonal side

I have a 1911 slide to lighten for a friend. i have laid out the cuts and know where to drill the endpoints for each cut. the problem i now face is that the cuts are going to be made on an angled flat of the slide (assume it is one side of a hexagon). I have measured the flat to be 0.380 wide, so i know my spot drill is at 0.190.

Given that i can't use an edge finder on the flat, how do i indicate the center?

What I would do is use a sharp pointed tool and a magnifier and point both edges. Try this several times until you are sure you have a repeatable procedure and then dial to the middle of the flat. We use a sharp point to set zero for many CNC set ups where the edge is not critical, but it can be used with good accuracy under magnification.
