file carding on the wire wheel

So my liddle hand gets tired of carding out my file. I've started cleaning it out on the wire wheel of the grinder.

Any comments? Am I wrecking my files?

Would you power wire brush any of your fluted tooling?
Hope not!
Try some chalk on the file.

Unsented Kerosene works better than chalk, especially so if draw filling.

I've got chalk and kerosene both, the file I carded out is a 14" single cut I was using to flatten out the finish on a pool cue...... it does feel smoother which is what led me to my question. It's still cutting the finish the same but the finish ain't steel...

Good point re throwing my reamers a'gint the wire wheel!

I shall discontinue this practice forthwith and most summarily SIRS....thank you'se for the educations....

I started using my air gun (w/ rubber safety nozzle on it) and that works very well (and fast).
